About Fine & Dandy Dance
Indonesian-born Dandy Diwangkara originally studied under Esther
Juon at Brighton’s Dance Laines. He was awarded a bursary by the
Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance in London where
his talent for choreography was encouraged by Artistic Director
Ross McKim and former Deputy Artistic director Thérese Cantine.
While in the school, his pieces were performed to critical
acclaim at the Royal Opera House’s Linbury Theatre, at London’s
Olympia and Covent Garden’s Floral Hall as part of the National
Dance Critics’ Awards ceremony.
Outside his own works, Dandy has performed in Anna Serrano's
choreography Sonatina at the Cochrane Theatre and Secret Tate at
the Tate Britain, London. He has also performed at the London
Colliseum in the English National Opera’s production of Doctor
Atomic, directed by Penny Woolcock and choreography by Andrew
Dawson.
